Cookie policy
Candle Key uses a small number of cookies. Essential cookies keep you signed in; everything optional is off until you consent.
Last updated 24 October 2026. The version you accept at registration is stored against your profile.
01
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. They allow a site to remember your session, preferences and security state between requests. Similar technologies — local storage and pixels — are covered by this policy.
We do not use cookies to sell advertising profiles, and we do not allow third-party ad networks to set cookies on the trading surfaces.
02
Essential cookies
These are required for the platform to work and cannot be switched off in the banner. They are host-only, HttpOnly where they carry a session, and SameSite=Lax.
- ckt_session — client portal session, 30 days.
- ckt_partner_session — partner dashboard session, 30 days.
- ckt_admin_session — admin session, short-lived.
- ckt_mfa — a 5-minute challenge after a correct password, before the second factor is verified.
- CSRF / form tokens — protect submissions against cross-site request forgery.
03
Preference cookies
Preference cookies remember choices such as language, theme and dismissed notices. They are optional but disabling them means those choices reset on each visit.
- ckt_locale — the language you selected, up to 12 months.
- ckt_notice — whether you dismissed a non-critical banner, up to 6 months.
04
Analytics cookies
Analytics help us understand which pages are used and where the product fails. They are only set after you accept optional cookies, and the data is aggregated. We do not send identity documents, balances or trade details to analytics tools.
If you decline, the site works normally. We do not use a “dark pattern” that keeps asking after you have declined.
05
Third-party cookies
Payment providers may set cookies during a funding flow to complete 3-D Secure and fraud checks. Those cookies are governed by the provider's policy and only appear when you start a payment.
Embedded video or map content, if present, may set cookies from the provider. We aim to use privacy-respecting embeds and load them only when you interact.
06
How to control cookies
Use the cookie banner to accept or reject optional cookies, and your browser settings to delete or block them. Blocking essential cookies will prevent sign-in and trading.
Most browsers also offer a private or incognito mode that clears cookies when the window closes. Clearing cookies signs you out of the portal and partner dashboard on that device.
07
Changes and contact
We will update this page when the cookie set changes. Material changes are reflected in the banner. Questions can go to [email protected].
Read the privacy policy for how personal data is handled more broadly.
